2021 SMF MBA Scholarship Awardees Share Their Experiences

Sainsbury Management Fellows 2021 MBA Scholarship Awardees

£450,000 Awarded to Young Engineers for MBA Study

Sainsbury Management Fellows MBA scholarships worth £450,000 have been awarded to nine talented young engineers to enable them to study for an MBA at leading international business schools and help them move into topflight roles in British industry.

On graduation, the scholarship awardees will become Sainsbury Management Fellows (SMFs)  and join the 375 strong alumni whose members champion business education for engineers in many ways including mentorship.

The sought-after SMF scholarship not only helps to advance the careers of the awardees in extraordinary ways, but they also go on to make significant positive impacts in society; both economically and socially and many in this cohort are keen to work on initiatives that support climate change and other environmental goals.  The new SMFs will also go on to create economic growth in corporations, create jobs through entrepreneurial endeavours and mentor tomorrow’s budding engineers.

We are delighted to introduce the 2021 cohort of SMFs, who are studying at INSEAD, Harvard Business School, IESE Business School, IMD Business School for Management and Kellogg School of Management.

The Sainsbury Management Fellows scholarship was established by Lord Sainsbury of Turville to ensure that there are more executives in UK boardrooms who have both technology and effective management skills, as do other prosperous industrial countries. This mix of engineering and business skills is proving successful as the graduated Sainsbury Management Fellows are making a difference in society.
